This really is a reluctant sale of my pride and joy, but been offered another CBX so she has to go.
She is an import for Italy in 1999, hence the fantastic condition and not had a restored job, even under the seat is in fantastic condition for her age although a 1979 model allowing air forks and a so called boot!
I have owned her for a year now bought from a Policeman, he had just fitted new battlaxe tyres, fork seals and some other bits.
Since I have owned her she has had all new spark plugs, NGK caps, HIGH TEMP silicon HT leads in matching orange, new throttle cables fitted a week ago, new Castrol oil and genuine Honda oil filter fitted last week although not due she has done 45 miles on the oil, carbs have been totally stripped cleaned and rebuilt and set up with vac gauges, she has a K & N air filter, braided hoses, so new brake fluid, new EBC pads fitted all through, I have also fitted a fork brake which does make a big difference, New adjustable Koni rear shocks fitted about 5 months ago, seat was recovered about 2 months ago so yes over the winter she has had a good sort out as thats what winters are for. Also my old tank had some signs of age and scratches caused by a jackets zip, so bought a new tank old new stock.
So she is ready to use and ride away, I would happily ride her anywhere in the UK, and the only time she played up is when a coil went down and the rear shocks got very bouncy, so all in all a very very good conditioned bike that pulls a crowd where ever we go, a true classic bike, with character grunt and reliability for a 28 year old bike, she really is in very very good condition, the exhaust are BSM which I think sound excellent not loud but allow the 6 cylinder engine to be heard, the left hand silencer had a patch welded on due to blowing a bit but all very solid see pics.
Mechanically sound and ready to go, mileage is about 36k miles and have the white face plates fitted which I think make it look nice, I have a full workshop manual with the italian differences section, a load of receipts, MOT which all confirm the mileage, I do have some spares, including the original forks which the previous owner fitted fork seals to but they leaked so due to wanting to use her straight away I was offered some other forks which are on there now and the top parts show signs of wear, the originals are better chrome and need seals, checking over and swapping over if you are fussy.
I am after a quick sale, these bikes go up in value as you know and insurance is £100 fully comp for me, I really do NOT want any part exchanges, my new bike is arranged so she must go.
£3,750 ovno
Any questions or any more detailed pics required just ask away. |
