The Miners Standard pub is located in the charming village of Winster on the B5057 about 5 miles west of Matlock in Derbyshire and has a superb campsite adjacent to a patio area with picnic tables, bike washing facilities (hosepipe!), ample hard standing and a large function room perfect for our Saturday night bash. They can supply breakfasts, lunches and buffet meals for over 100 people and burgers etc can be bought in the pub until midnight. We have arranged entertainment on both Friday and Saturday nights in the function room / marquee. There are 2 very clean outside showers and toilets (one male, one female). The Miners Standard is set in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside with great biking roads all around and promises to be a venue with the location and hospitality we dedicated ralliers enjoy. You are assured of a warm and friendly welcome at the Miners Standard.
Accommodation available at the time of going to press:
Miners Standard fully booked (only 3 rooms).
2 en suite rooms at Brae Cottage (01629-650375) in the adjacent village - £23 pppn including breakfast.
3 Rooms at The Dower House (01629-650931) - £95 per room including breakfast.
The Old Parish Poorhouse (01629-620279), a self-catering cottage across the road can only be booked Saturday to Monday at a price of £940 for 11 people (approx £85 per person).
Matlock is the nearest town about 5 miles away and there are some hotels there – New Bath Hotel, The Cromwell Hotel, Riber Hall, Cascades Gardens, Holmfield Country Guest House, Grouse Claret. There are some self-catering cottages for hire in the village of Winster – The Spook (01629-650480), The Old Stables (08701-971669). The Miners Standard and The Old Parish Poor House can be found on the internet.
